Things people oftenwant to know
These are the questions I'm asked most — answered honestly and without agency fluff.
01. Are you still sketching by hand or digitally?
While my daily workflow is digital, returning to pencil and marker paper keeps me grounded. The lack of an „undo“ button forces a level of intention that carries over into my digital work, helping me focus on the big picture and core ideas before getting lost in the details.
To bring that authentic, analog feel into the digital realm, I’ve developed my own Designer’s Brushes. You can get my personal Photoshop brushes now on Gumroad – Alex Dang Design
02. What is your opinion about AI Images?
I really don’t like AI-generated images – so every image here is made by me, from first sketch to final pixel. Just the joy of creating, mistakes, learning and the human touch included. I believe Art should ocme from real people!
03. Which Software do you use?
I utilize Adobe Photoshop for digital painting and Blender paired with Unreal Engine for my 3D modeling and animation pipeline. For Texturing my models, I use Substance Painter. I recently shifted my post-production from the Adobe Suite towards DaVinci Resolve, favoring its intuitive node-based system for advanced VFX and high-end color grading. In the end, find out what works best for your needs! There’s no right or wrong – whatever works for you!
04. How do we start a project?
I’m open to freelance opportunities,—whether it’s creating futuristic vehicle art, 2D and 3D Digital Art, cinematic editing/ art direction. I also value both short- and long-term collaborations where we can work interdisciplinary, combining our individual strengths to create something truly impactful. Just DM me!

"Alex's design style and approach to creative work are clean, organized, and highly creative. Thinking outside the box while staying inside the scope is a great skill. He is a self-reflected, genuinely kind and strong personality."
"Alex is a highly creative and curious designer who consistently impressed me with striking concepts, innovative presentation techniques, and inspiring visuals. Working with him on the Vision AVTR felt natural and enjoyable, shaped by his clear vision, thoughtful approach, and genuinely positive Energy."
Charles Eames hat gesagt: The details aren't the details, they make the design Alex ist die Person, die diese Details unermüdlich ausgestaltet.
"Alex is a dreamer with the skills to execute. Collaborating with him is effortless. He’s an acute listener and a creative mind brimming with ideas. His level-headed demeanor and detail-oriented professionalism make him a truly one-of-a-kind partner."
"Working with Alex has always been enjoyable, and his support and guidance played an important role in my first internship at Mercedes-Benz. He is a very positive and approachable person who made the entire experience motivating. Beyond design skills, he offered valuable guidance on the overall mindset and development needed to grow as a car designer."
"Alex was more than a design tutor — he sparked genuine enthusiasm. From sketching fundamentals to Blender and AI, he showed how to develop ideas and present them convincingly. His openness to new technologies left a lasting impression and inspired the same mindset in me."
"I highly recommend my former colleague and tutor Alex, an exceptional designer and mentor who combines a wide range of skills with a calm, but motivating teaching style. What truly sets him apart is his ability to share knowledge in a clear, patient, and engaging way. While there are many talented designers, very few can teach and inspire others as effectively as he does."
